Hey there. Apple Lemon-Pepper Pork Chops is my latest culinary adventure. It requires NO chopping, 1 pan, and majority of the cooking is in the oven. What could be better than simple, savory and a little sweet.
Cooking Equipment Must Haves
Apple Lemon-Pepper Pork Chops requires an oven safe pan since you will start on the stove top and move it to the oven to finish cooking. Cast iron or a stainless steal skillet are excellent options. If you are using the 2 inch pork chops, you will want a large pan that can easily 3-4 pork chops.
Tongs are a must for this recipe. Not only does it help with searing the outside, they are handy when flipping the pork chops in the hot apple juice. You will want to pay extra attention to not burn yourself when flipping the chops.
Simple, Savory and a little sweet”
Ingredient Modifications
Pork chops come in many different thicknesses. If you are unable to find 2 inch pork chops, the thinner versions also work well. I recommend reducing the sear time to 1 minute on each side and cook for 10 minutes on each side in the oven. Remember, always use a cooking thermometer to check the internal done temp. It should read 145 degrees before it is safe to eat.
For ease of use or cooking I use Martinelli’s Apple Juice in the single serve glass bottles. This comes out to 1 1/4 cup of apple juice.
