Fancy meeting you here! Speaking of fancy, you’ll feel extra elegant making my Smoked Salmon and Cucumber Snacks. Get your veggies, protein and omega threes with these adorable treats. They are simple to make and present beautifully. Not only are they a dreamy snack, but they can help use the best of your farmer market haul or backyard summer garden.
When the temperature starts climbing, these are one of my go-to snacks. They taste incredible, combining cucumbers’ crisp, calm, and juicy texture with smoked salmon’s smoky, slightly salty flavor. Adding a smear of yogurt dill sauce amplifies this delicious combination, while cherry tomatoes and basil provide a burst of herby freshness.
These snacks are also packed with health benefits. Salmon is rich in Omega-3s and is often recommended for those on an anti-inflammatory diet. I eat salmon at least once a week to help manage my autoimmune disease. Additionally, salmon is high in protein, making this snack a great way to boost protein intake without adding extra calories.

Sample Your Garden

As a Midwestern vegetable gardener, it’s time to make the most of your abundant summer harvest with this fantastic recipe! My Smoked Salmon and Cucumber snacks combines juicy cherry tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, fresh dill, and aromatic basil into a delicious and satisfying creation. Like many Midwest gardeners, you might be wondering how to use everything that’s ready to be picked. This recipe is an excellent way to incorporate the variety of vegetables and herbs from your summer garden. Few dishes can so effectively bring together the majority of your garden’s bountiful summer produce.
Stick to Simple
These Smoked Salmon and cucumber treats look delightful and are also extremely easy to pull together. An extra step I like to take is to stripe the cucumber. Hold your cucumber vertically and using a peeler to slice the full length of the cucumber. Move to another spot and make another slice until your cucumber looks like it has stripes.

Assemble striped cucumber, a smear of tzaziki, cherry tomatoes and a basil leaf on your toothpick. Voilà! Tasty nourishing treats that are darling.

Cooking Tip: Having your kiddos help pick the produce and assemble these snacks is a great way to expose children to cooking

The simplicity of these cucumber and smoked salmon bites make it a great way to involve kiddos in the kitchen. With minimal chopping and equipment this is an easy way to introduce cooking to kiddos. It gives them a chance to do something fun in the kitchen while also learning about some vegetables. It’s also a great way to spend time making something together. Bonus points if they try it! Who knows, they may just end up sampling and enjoying some veggies!
