Hey there, fabulous readers! Are you as pumped as I am about Brussels sprouts? Probably not, but that is okay. I will be your official veggie hype woman. I make these little gems at least once a week from late Fall to early Winter. They taste savory, slightly earthy and are a breeze to make.
Where and When to buy Brussel Sprouts
Your local grocery store may carry sprouts all year, but they are officially in season from late Fall to early Winter. The cold weather actually makes these little gems sweeter. You can find them in your produce department in mesh bags.
Brussels sprouts are on my bucket list to grow. This year, maybe I will grow my own and save myself a trip to the market.
Prepping Brussel Sprouts
Prepping the brussel sprouts properly is essential to get an evenly cooked sprout. The method I describe will ensure you never have a half-done sprout. I failed many times, so you don’t have to.
First, peel a few outer leaves.
Then, cut off the ends.
Next, slice lengthwise.
Sometimes, I like to cut these easier in the day or even the day before to save some time.

Brussels Sprouts Pairings
There are a few meals that go rather well with my Air Fried Brussel Sprouts. My personal favorite is Smoked Buffalo Wings . The flavoring works rather well with the smokey wings. I also enjoy Brussels sprouts with pork chops. This pairing is more an earthy sweet combo that is fabulous for an autumn meal.
Instead of paring sprouts with a meal as a side, you can also make it as a healthy snack.
Wrap Up
These sprouts are one of my favorite sides, hopefully soon to be yours too. These little gems are a healthy addition to your plate. Following the instructions will make sure you never get a half cooked sprout ever again. As always, made with love from my kitchen to yours.
