Hey there sunshine! Ready to sprinkle some fabulousness into your day! Introducing my refreshing twist on a classic childhood favorite: Cherry Wine-Ade. Whatever your summer entails, I hope it’s enjoyed with a glass of Cherry Wine-Ade! It’s light and refreshing and fit for any fancy or low-key event. Crisp lime, tart cherries, and sweet white wine make this refreshing summer cocktail!
Inspiration
When I think of this cocktail, I think about balance. Balancing the fun of a childhood favorite re-imagined for an adult, the fun of an alcoholic cocktail against the need to pick healthy choices, and the balance of sweet and tart within the drink itself! There are many options to reach for, but this cocktail makes it easy.

Alcoholic cocktails are dazzling fun, but often, with my autoimmune condition, I don’t get to enjoy as much as I would like to. I find them to be incredibly inflammatory, aggravating my symptoms. However, my Cherry Wine-Ade only requires half a glass of wine and uses fresh fruit and mineral water for flavor. There is no need for artificial flavors or overly sugary syrups when using natural sweeteners. This is also helpful if you’re watching your weight. While I would never call this an anti-inflammatory drink, the mixers are natural fruit, making me feel better about what I put in my body. It’s about balance, and this cocktail fits perfectly into my lifestyle, balancing fun and health.
Fit for a Crowd
This summer indulgence is the perfect mainstay for hosting social events. Half mineral water will keep you from dehydrating this summer as you sip your fruity cocktail through summer block parties, bachelorettes, wedding showers, and BBQs.
It is easy to make this simple drink in bulk. First, add 2 cups of white wine, 2 cups of mineral water, 4 limes, and 1 cup of frozen cherries. Mix together in a beautiful pitcher, and you’re ready to host! If you’re looking to keep with the fresh summer vibe, may I suggest pairing it with my Garden Party Salmon Bites or Grandma’s Guacamole?
Mock-tail Modifications
If balance means no alcohol to you, I also have you covered.
The mock-tail movement I am starting to see in local bars and restaurants is extraordinary. Social acceptance is finally here, where you can go out and not be pressured to drink to socialize. Additionally, some mock-tails are so incredibly delectable that you don’t even miss the alcohol.

To make the Cherry Wine-Ade sans wine, try muddling 5 cherries at the bottom with half a teaspoon of sugar. Then add your 1/2 lime juice with 6 oz of sparkling water. Some sparkling waters also have flavored varieties you can add, such as lime, lemon, or raspberry.
Ingredients
The ingredients are simple- like the joy of a summer sunset. For the fruit I use organic limes and frozen tart cherries. I do not recommend the maraschino cherries as they are syrupy and full of added sugar. If you’re looking for bulk ingredients to make this in bulk I highly recommend your local wholesale warehouse such as Costco. I use flavor free mineral water that you can find in the drink aisle of any super market.
The wine selection can change up the flavor of this drink depending on whether you choose a dry, semi dry or sweet white wine. My goto is a Riesling since it’s inexpensive for a great bottle. A Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Gregio would be excellent choice if you prefer dryer wines.
The Wrap Up
Whatever your summer plans include, I hope you get to enjoy a delightful Cherry Wine-Ade! It’s light, refreshing, and suitable for any event, whether fancy or casual. It’s quick to make, allowing you to return to your summer novel or enjoy the sunset views. Whether lounging by the pool or hosting a backyard barbecue, Cherry Wine-Ade is the perfect companion for any summer occasion. So, raise your glass and savor the invigorating taste of summer with Cherry Wine-Ade – the perfect blend of fruity bliss and citrus zest. Thanks for reading. As always, this is made with love from my back patio to yours!
